Woodland Indians

The Woodland Indians evolved from the Archaic Indians. They existed between 1,000 B.C - 1,000 A.D. These Indians hunted Deer, Moose, Turkey and other small animals. They also grew crops such as corn. The Woodlands invented the bow and arrow. The bow and arrow was a weapon that was more powerful than the atlatl and spear. The use of pottery spread across the eastern woodlands. Pottery was first invented by the Archaic Indians.
